Happy Thursday everyone,
I hope that you’re all well.
This arrived in the post today, isn’t it gorgeous?
Today’s blog post is something I’ve been asked to explain in more depth for quite some time now! If you follow me on instagram I’m sure you will know how much I love daily spreads, and if you payed close attention I’m sure you’ve realized just how frequently I change my structure and design. I guess my indecisiveness even shines through when it comes to organisation… woops, lets just pretend I’m expressing my creativity.
In the simplest of terms, a daily spread is used to organize and prioritize the tasks, events and notes you have for each day of the week.
A daily spread can be as brief and simple as you wish, but it also allows you to customize it to suit your own personal needs and situations.
Before starting with any type of planning whether its daily or weekly, its important to set up a key that you can use to help identify different tasks and events from one another.
Pushing aside all the colours and symbols, the three main things to take away from this key is the ‘completed, migrated and cancelled’ symbols. These 3 symbols are vital for any planning log as it allows you to visually see when a task or event has been completed, cancelled or moved to another day.
Once the key is established its easy sailing from then on, all thats left is to add the date and log all things you’d like to get done that day. Its always important to keep checking this page throughout the day to remind yourself of what needs to be done or as a way to remember important notes and future tasks.
One of my favourite things about daily logging is that you’re not bound down to just tasks, events and notes, in fact a lot of people (including myself) use their daily pages for a wide variety of other things. Some examples of these are, noting what food was eaten, water consumption, the weather, money spent, exercise done, an observation made, a brief diary entry, etc etc. Of course you don’t have to add any of these, but its nice to know that the option is there.
My February daily layouts:
I hope that this post helped clarify any questions you may have had and I hope that the layouts gave you some inspiration for your own!
