Happy Monday, I hope your weekend has been fun and restful!
One of the most frequently asked message I receive over on Instagram is ‘what are my favourite bullet journaling products’ so I thought i’d take the time and create a little master post with all my favourite bullet journaling goodies and essentials.
Quick disclaimer – All products mentioned are items that I personally love to use daily within my own bullet journal, don’t feel like in order to bullet journal ‘correctly’ you need to purchase any of these items or any of the products you see among your Instagram and pinterest feeds. The amazing thing about bullet journaling is that there arent any restrictions or set items you need in order to start. The only thing you require is a pen, some paper (or notebook) and yourself. yay!
I know jumping into something new can be a tad daunting, especially when you are flooded with pictures of peoples bullet journals and stationery. Is it only me or does anyone else love looking at others stationery hauls and collections? I honestly have such an obsession for stationery… It’s getting out of hand.
I decided to make this post a little more interesting and fun by including a mindmap I drew up in my bullet journal that explores the different essentials I use to bullet journal.
As you can see it is split up into five categories – pens, books, inspiration, colour, tools. Lets dive in and explore these further. woooooooo!
I am really fussy when it comes to pens, normally I am a ballpoint type of gal but surprisingly for my bullet journal I much prefer the look and finish of fineliners instead. I love how fineliners give you a lovely solid, even and matte finish to the page instead of a streaky and scratchy look. (It just hit me while I was typing this that I shouldn’t care about pens this much hahaha)
My two top picks for pens that I constantly use on a day to day basis are:
The Stabilo Point 88 Pens – I use black for all my boarders and the bulk of my writing content.
The KIKKI.K Felt Tip Pen – Similarly to the Stabilo, I also use black for all my boarders and the bulk of my writing content.
Hands down my all time favourite book is the Leuchttrum1917 medium size (A5) dotted grid notebook. OH MY GOSH, this notebook is insane. First of all they are available in an array of beautiful colours, seriously, any colour in the rainbow you can think of you can bet that they have it. Secondly, the paper quality is gorgeous, its super smooth, smudge and bleed proof. What else could you want?
I love that the covers are hard, it makes the notebook so much more sturdy and durable (especially if your are using it multiple times a day like myself.)
Rulers, rulers, rulers and more rulers! I don’t think I could bullet journal without my ruler, my ruler helps me keep everything tidy, straight, even and in order. If I use free hand you can guarantee that my page would be one complete uneven mess.
Now that I have started my own sticker line, they proved to be extremely helpful in my bullet journal and also took a lot of the time and hassle out of my daily and weekly planning. Below are some of my essential picks for bullet journals:
To add colour to my page I like to use a few different things.
I love using highlighters to create headers and titles for my pages. I also love to use them to add colour coordination and coding to my page so that it is easier for me to read and distinguish my taks and events that are on during the day
Stabilo point 88 pens:
I love to also use the coloured 88 point pents for headings, boarders and other page decorations. I think a splash of colour from these pens adds dimension to the page and can help make planning a lot more fun and enjoyable
I hope you found this post helpful!
Enjoy the rest of your week,
